Watch as Natsuki Ishitani, a true master craftsman, demonstrates his skill in building a Kigumi bed. No screws, no nails, no glue. Pure joy!

Using the traditional Japanese stepped dovetail joint. This kumite(joint) is used in traditional framework construction methods. This method of construction has been used in the supporting posts and beams in houses for centuries right up to the present day in Japan. Ishitani utilised the same dovetail style for this bed. Built using Cypress wood as used in house building. Without glue, nails or screws, yet solid. The finish is walnut oil.
